大同琴行是由老一代钢琴企业家佟礼贤先生始创于1954年，因仰慕孙中山先生“天下大同”的博大胸襟，故取名于“大同”。
琴行经过几代人的努力，不断发展，先后开办了广州市大同艺术培训学校、广州市大同艺术团广东哈利臣钢琴等多元化企业。还创建了自己的品牌—哈利臣钢琴、摩利臣钢琴、管乐、吉他爵士鼓等乐器，是集批发零售、进出口贸易、工厂制造和教学培训为一体的多元化企业。
